Cerex Advanced Fabrics, Inc. a division of Western Nonwovens, Inc. has commercialized a new spunbond nylon manufacturing line at its Cantonment, Florida location to produce the highest quality spunbond fabrics. This multi-million dollar expansion utilizes the latest technologies to provide the most uniform spunbond fabrics available and further enhances Cerex Advanced Fabrics' leadership role and commitment in providing cutting edge solutions for its customers. This expansion will significantly grow the Cerex's sales capacity and enhance its position as the world's leading producer of spunbond nylon fabrics.
New high quality products under the brand of SpectraMax™
SpectraMax™ is a new low denier, extremely uniform nylon 6,6 fabric with the benefits of superior strength, filtration efficiency, opacity, softness and drapeability in addition to the natural advantages of nylon such as thermal resistance, dyeability and gamma stability. Target markets for SpectraMax™ include automotive trim, specialty wipes, shoe components, medical fabrics, home furnishings, protective apparel and aerospace media.
SpectraMax™ will be available in fabric weights ranging from 10 - 136 grams per square meter (gsm) in widths up to 3'100 mm.
In addition the SpectraMax™is available with a proprietary
coating to be used for shoe liners and insoles. Metalized products
and antimicrobial or antifungal treatments are available as well.
